R\u00e9al Veilleux and Pierre Lacroix were long-time friends who\u2019d met in school. In 1983, R\u00e9al took a sabbatical from his management position to visit the US, and happened to make a discovery that would set both men on a new path. Down south, clinics and salons were offering EMS, electro-muscle stimulation, then a revolutionary breakthrough technology for improving muscle tone without hours and hours at the gym. Back in Montreal, R\u00e9al and Pierre, who had studied aesthetic care and massage therapy, began wondering if Montreal might be the perfect place to offer such a technology.<\/p>\n

Electrostimulation is still one of Physotech’s most popular services, used to help trim and tone muscles without grueling gym workouts. Electrostimulation is also a method of choice for those who can\u2019t work out due to an injury. Indeed, a variety of buff men seem to go in and out leaving onlookers surprised it’s not a full-on gym. The majority of the clientele here are men, as are nearly all of the staff. “There are plenty of salons for women and men don’t tend to feel comfortable there,” explains R\u00e9al. “We wanted to create a place where men who want to look good would feel right at home.”<\/p>\n
